Roy Hodgson’s winning start to his second Bristol City spell ended with a frustrating draw at Queens Park Rangers.<\/b><\/p>\n
The visitors dominated early on and created enough chances to win, but QPR goalkeeper Joe Walsh kept them at bay.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the hosts extended their unbeaten run to five games.<\/p>\n
But both sides will be frustrated as their already slim hopes of making the Championship play-offs look over with the gap to the top six now eight points.<\/p>\n
It was a slow start, but Jonathan Varane squandered a decent early opening for Rangers when he failed to connect with an Amadou Mbengue cross from the right. <\/p>\n
He chested the ball into keeper Radek Vitek’s path, when meaningful contact could have tested him.<\/p>\n
At the other end, Walsh was forced into the first save after 15 minutes, stopping a low Mark Sykes low effort after a short corner created space at the edge of the area.<\/p>\n
QPR offered little in attack and City were the side making most of the running.<\/p>\n
After thwarting Scott Twine from distance, Walsh made a double save to deny Sykes and Emil Riis in the area on the stroke of half-time.<\/p>\n
Soon after, Walsh was on hand to parry Twine strike from distance after the Bristol City man found space on the edge of the area.<\/p>\n
As the game approached the hour mark, QPR began to find their feet. Rayan Kolli’s low cross eventually found Paul Smyth, but he could only slice the ball over the bar.<\/p>\n
After struggling in the first half, Rangers were looking the more likely as the minutes ticked by, but a lack of cutting edge ultimately cost both sides.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
