Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has signed a two-year contract extension with the club, effectively ruling him out of a return to the Italy national team.<\/b><\/p>\n
Spalletti was linked with the vacant Italy manager’s job following the resignation of Gennaro Gattuso last week, after Italy failed to qualify for a third consecutive men’s World Cup.<\/p>\n
Spalletti, 67, took charge of Juventus on a short-term contract in October following the sacking of Igor Tudor.<\/p>\n
“Since Luciano joined our great Juventus family, he has had an immediate and very positive impact on our players, the whole club and the entire Bianconeri community,” Juventus CEO Damien Comolli said in a statement.<\/p>\n
“It was immediately clear to everyone that Luciano was the right person to lead the team on a path of growth.”<\/p>\n
Former Roma and Inter Milan boss Spalletti led Napoli to a first Serie A title in 33 years in 2023, before leaving the club that summer to become Italy manager.<\/p>\n
His Italy side suffered a last-16 exit at Euro 2024, and he was dismissed in June 2025 after a 3-0 World Cup qualifier loss to Norway.<\/p>\n
In March last year he said that Napoli would be the last Italian club he ever coached.<\/p>\n
Juventus are fifth in the Serie A table with 57 points, one point off the Champions League places with seven games remaining.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
