Jamal Musiala gave them a ninth-minute with a diving header at the back post, before Leon Goretzka, Michael Olise, Nicolas Jackson and Raphael Guerreiro scored in the second half to secure a convincing victory.<\/p>\n
Musiala’s header from a Konrad Laimer cross was Bayern’s 101st league goal this season, equalling the record they set in 1971-72 for the most scored in a Bundesliga campaign.<\/p>\n
Musiala also hit the post with a curling effort midway through the first half, before a heroic Kim Min-Jae block denied St Pauli an equaliser from one of their few sights of goal.<\/p>\n
It took Vincent Kompany’s side eight minutes after the restart to break the Bundesliga goals mark when Goretzka volleyed in the 102nd after a Joshua Kimmich free-kick was flicked on to the far post.<\/p>\n
Just 75 seconds later France winger Olise found the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area, before Jackson side-footed past St Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj from close range.<\/p>\n
Guerreiro added a deserved fifth in the 89th minute after picking the pocket of a defender and slotting home.<\/p>\n
Bayern took full advantage of Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen earlier on Saturday, and now hold a commanding lead over their closest rivals with just five games left to play.<\/p>\n
Their goal difference now stands at 78, with Kompany’s side having scored at least twice in 27 of their 29 league matches.<\/p>\n
Musiala was named player of the match on just his third league start of an injury-hit campaign as he looks to earn a place in Germany’s World Cup squad.<\/p>\n
Such was the ruthlessness of Bayern’s second-half attacking play, England captain Harry Kane was able to rest on the bench before the second leg of his side’s Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on Wednesday, with the Germans 2-1 ahead.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
