England back-row forward Demelza Short has signed a new deal to stay with Premiership Women’s Rugby side Bristol Bears.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 19-year-old made her Red Roses debut in their 84-7 thrashing of Scotland last Saturday in the Women’s Six Nations. <\/p>\n

Short signed for Bristol last summer and has made eight appearances this season in the PWR. <\/p>\n

Head coach Scott Lawson said Short is an “outstanding young talent”. <\/p>\n

“[She] has really seized her opportunity this season, stepping up brilliantly when the squad was stretched by international call-ups and injuries,” Lawson said.<\/p>\n

“She’s shown maturity beyond her years and we believe she has an exceptionally high ceiling.”<\/p>\n

Short, who can play across the back five of the scrum, has been named among the replacements for England’s next Six Nations fixture against Wales on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“I’m looking forward to continuing to develop and contributing to the team’s success, learning from incredible role models around me and focusing on getting better every day,” Short said of the new deal.<\/p>\n

Bristol have not disclosed the length of Short’s new contract.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
