Teenage all-rounder Archie Vaughan has signed a new deal with Somerset that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2028 season.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 19-year-old son of former England Ashes-winning captain Michael broke into Somerset’s first team in 2024 and was named England Under-19 captain during their tour of South Africa in January.<\/p>\n

Vaughan, who has been part of Somerset’s academy since 2020, has taken 40 wickets and scored 1,094 runs in 35 List A and first-class matches for the county during the past two seasons. <\/p>\n

“I’m really excited and it means a lot to know that the club have confidence in me,” Vaughan told the Somerset website., external<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

“I hope I can reward their faith with winning performances on the field. <\/p>\n

I just want to keep doing what I’m doing, learning and improving all the time and hopefully taking my game to the next level.<\/p>\n

“I want to get better in all aspects of my game, and I want to become a genuine all-rounder – that will give me the best chance of making an impact in every game.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
