Kent fighter Francesca Hennessy is the co-main event and will take on Czech Fabiana Bytyqi in a ten round bantamweight bout.<\/p>\n

There is quite the gap in expereince between the pair, but Hennessy – daughter of British promoter Mick Hennessy – has already been earmarked as a future world title contender.<\/p>\n

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour last week, Hennessy says her father actually never expected her to box.<\/p>\n

She was 13 when she had her first amateur fight, a contest she lost.<\/p>\n

“I was very overweight when I was younger,” Hennessy said.<\/p>\n

“I kind of got in it for fitness. In my head it was always I wanted to box, but in my parents’ head it was just healthy.<\/p>\n

“But boxing gave me so much confidence within that ’cause I was quite insecure because of my weight and things.<\/p>\n

“It’s changed my whole outlook. When I was younger and things, I just wasn’t as confident in myself.”<\/p>\n
