After a 2-0 win over St Mirren, Hibs head coach David Gray was still preferring to look up at catching Motherwell in the fourth spot that would guarantee European football. <\/p>\n

“All we can do is take care of ourselves,” Gray said. “We’ve moved three points closer to Motherwell \u2013 I know they play tomorrow and they’ve got another game in hand.”<\/p>\n

United boss Jim Goodwin knows there’s a challenge ahead but still firmly believes a top-six place is achievable for his side. <\/p>\n

“We all understood the importance of the game,” he said after his side’s vital away win.<\/p>\n

“We’ve closed the gap on Falkirk by three points and we’ve a couple of games in hand on them.<\/p>\n

“If we can go and perform like that \u2013 on the offensive front \u2013 in weeks to come, then we give ourselves a good chance of continuing this fight for top six.<\/p>\n

“Albeit we’ve given ourselves a mountain to climb, we won’t stop trying.”<\/p>\n

At Aberdeen, where Peter Leven all but confirmed he would be in place as interim manager until the end of the season, he made his target clear for his time in charge. <\/p>\n

“Top six is still possible,” he said. “That’s what we’ve got to aim for. The last time I took over, we went on a good unbeaten run, so I’m hoping to get that form back.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
