Belinda Moore will leave her role as head of women’s and girls’ rugby at the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) to join the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as The Hundred’s growth director.<\/b><\/p>\n

Moore was appointed in January 2025 when the role was created after the WRU’s independent review in 2024.<\/p>\n

Her contract was initially until the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England, but was extended until the end of the 2026 Women’s Six Nations.<\/p>\n

Wales had a disappointing World Cup campaign, failing to qualify for the quarter-finals and were the first team to be knocked out of the tournament.<\/p>\n

The former chief executive of Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) was a high profile appointment by the WRU and was tasked with helping to transform the game from pathways to professionalism, while improving the culture.<\/p>\n

Moore played a role in the expansion of the new Celtic Challenge, the cross-border league between sides from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.<\/p>\n

She will leave her position at the WRU in March and help find a successor.<\/p>\n

In the meantime Moore will also be involved in negotiations over contracts for Wales women’s leading players.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
