Six Nations: Rhys Carre credits Wales boss Steve Tandy with restoring belief

Wales’ try-scoring hero Rhys Carre credits head coach Steve Tandy for bringing him back into the international fold and “letting him do what he does best”.

The Saracens prop had been overlooked by Warren Gatland and Wayne Pivac who publicly said he missed individual performance targets.

Carre – who became a social media sensation with his 30-metre score against Ireland – says current boss Tandy has restored his belief.

He has responded by becoming only the sixth prop in history to score in three successive Test matches and is Wales’ leading points scorer in the 2026 championship.
