Stone laid waste to the Leicestershire middle order taking 5-41 as the Foxes were reduced to 220-8 at the close chasing Notts’ first innings 490.
And Stone admitted he had not given up on more international recognition should it come this summer.
“I was really happy with the way I bowled. It felt good, probably the best I’ve felt this year. It was nice just to be enjoying myself,” he said.
“It’s obviously been disappointing with my injuries. But I know I’ve always got performances like today in the locker. Hopefully I’ve shown today that I’ve still got plenty in the tank, plenty to offer here with Notts and long may it continue.
“In terms of England, whether that race is run, I don’t know. That’s obviously not down to me. I’m just going to enjoy my cricket here keep working hard for Notts.
“If we can keep getting wins on the board and get that Championship table again, if a phone call comes, great. If not, I’ll just keep enjoying it here.”
