‘I’ll need a lot more goals’ – Bowie on Scotlandpublished at 17:47 GMT
FT: Hibernian 2-0 Dundee
Image source, SNS“I eventually got there after missing a sitter,” says Hibs striker Kieron Bowie, who opened the scoring at Easter Road.
“It’s been a while [since I last scored] but you’ve just got to keep doing what you’re doing. Hopefully, one will go in.
“The header was an awkward height and I thought ‘I could chest this’ then I tried to head it and somehow it’s gone over the bar. You’ve just got to bounce back. I could have gone under and that would have been me for the whole game, but I tried to laugh it off.
“I won’t repeat what I said after getting the goal…”
Asked about forcing his way back into the Scotland squad for the World Cup, Bowie is not getting carried away.
“Obviously everyone wants to play for their nation and I’ve managed to do that a couple of times, but that would be another level,” he says.
“I’ll need a lot more goals. If I do the basics well, the goals will come.”
