Dawid Malan: Former England batter joins Gloucestershire for 2026 and 2027 T20 Blasts

Gloucestershire have signed former England batter Dawid Malan for the 2026 and 2027 T20 Blast campaigns.

The 38-year-old left Yorkshire last week with a year still on his contract after six seasons with the county.

Malan retired from international cricket in August 2024, as one of only two men – along with Jos Buttler – to score a century in all three formats for England.

He was part of the squad that won the T20 World Cup in 2022 and played in 22 Test matches, 30 one-day and 62 T20 internationals.

Malan said Gloucestershire – who won the Blast in 2024 – were a club with “real ambition” to challenge for the title again next season.

“You only have to speak to [director of cricket] Jon Lewis and [head coach] Mark Alleyne to understand the scale of their ambition. They are putting together a strong squad, and I am eager to contribute,” Malan said.

“I have worked with both of them in the England set-up – they are positive, professional people and it will be great to join them and the players, and to help Gloucestershire challenge for titles.”
