Kent fighter Francesca Hennessy is the co-main event and will take on Czech Fabiana Bytyqi in a ten round bantamweight bout.

There is quite the gap in expereince between the pair, but Hennessy – daughter of British promoter Mick Hennessy – has already been earmarked as a future world title contender.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour last week, Hennessy says her father actually never expected her to box.

She was 13 when she had her first amateur fight, a contest she lost.

“I was very overweight when I was younger,” Hennessy said.

“I kind of got in it for fitness. In my head it was always I wanted to box, but in my parents’ head it was just healthy.

“But boxing gave me so much confidence within that ’cause I was quite insecure because of my weight and things.

“It’s changed my whole outlook. When I was younger and things, I just wasn’t as confident in myself.”
