Kellie Harrington: Two-time Olympic champion wins 12th Irish Elite title


Two-time Olympic champion Kellie Harrington claimed her 12th Irish Elite with victory over Kellie McLoughlin at the National Stadium in Dublin.

The 36-year-old, who came out of retirement last year, earned a unanimous decision win over the defending lightweight champion McLoughlin in the 60kg bout.

Belfast’s Michaela Walsh collected a record 14th Irish Elite title with a comfortable victory against Sarah Cunningham in the lightweight decider.

Another of Northern Ireland’s 2022 Commonwealth Games winners in Jude Gallagher claimed a 3-2 split decision win in the featherweight final against Adam Hession.

Ulster Elite champion Caitlin Fryers suffered a split decision defeat against Paris Olympian Daina Moorehouse, who she also lost to in the 2023 final.

Patsy Joyce beat 2025 flyweight champion Clepson dos Santos in the 55kg title fight.

Olympian Jack Marley took home the heavyweight title with a win over North Down’s Garyn McAllister in the final, while Gilford super-heavyweight Willie John McCartan was awarded a walkover as Martin McDonagh was unable to compete.

Reigning world middleweight champion Aoife O’Rourke successfully defended her 65kg title against Shauna Kearney.
