Image source, Getty ImagesHello, folks. Pre-season testing is in full swing in Bahrain as teams and drivers get to grips with some of the biggest changes Formula 1 has ever seen. Things like DRS are yesterday’s news. Now we’re talking active aero, boost mode and energy recovery.
Wednesday’s opening day of testing was drama-free, with only a few minor niggles bringing each session to a brief stop. Four-time title winner Max Verstappen had a productive stint in the Red Bull, banking 136 laps and the second-quickest time. The Dutchman is watching on from the sidelines today, as new team-mate Isack Hadjar takes over.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was third quickest, 0.521secs slower than Norris, ahead of Haas driver Esteban Ocon, who now makes way for Brit team-mate Ollie Bearman.
