London City Lionesses manager Eder Maestre: “Really frustrating. I really thought the team performed very well today. The other day against Everton, we were vey dominant and were frustrated not having the result we deserved.
“Today too, we thought we deserved much more than that result. We need to take the good things. We were facing one of the best team in Europe. The way we are facing teams like United and Manchester City, I am very proud of the team and the way we are moving. It’s frustrating on one hand but we trust in the process.
“Second half, they were more happy to take risks. They were more consistent in how to manage the first balls and avoid our counter attacks. But we were good in defence. We couldn’t just connect that last shot but it’s football.
“I want to tell my players to keep pushing because we are moving forward. I am very proud of them.”
On defender Wassa Sangare, who was injured in warm-up: “We need to check. Hopefully, we are able to have her back for the FA Cup.”
